We knew Jakub Voráček was a Czech professional ice hockey right winger for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, but we didn’t know that his father was his mentor, inspired him to play hockey, and that he came to the states on his own in his teens to pursue his dreams. His down to earth, straightforward perspective on working hard and his humility about his achievements were refreshing to hear.

One of the coolest parts of this shoot was when our resident hockey player, Scott Cumpstone, got to skate alongside the Pro Athlete for some of the gimbal work you see that our drone couldn’t capture in the arena.

One of the more difficult elements of the shoot was stripping the arena and Jacub of obvious logos since this was a piece for Delaware Valley Honda Dealers and produced by Philly Mag. Our team, in addition to doing our best to limit the scope of the shots, in many cases had to mask out logos from both Jacub’s helmet, gloves, stick, and the boards around the arena. Arduous task but worth the effort for our hometown offense-man.
