Join Us in Celebrating International Day of the Girl
Every year, October 11th is recognized as International Day of the Girl. This day is for raising awareness of gender-based challenges that girls face around the world and acknowledging the importance, power, and potential of adolescent girls by encouraging the world to open up more opportunities for them.
In honor of its 10th anniversary, we want to highlight the work Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey is doing to make a difference in the lives and futures of girls in the Greater Philadelphia region.
A Spotlight on Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey
Girls Inc. focuses on the development of the whole girl. Through their programming, girls learn to value themselves, take risks, develop their inherent strengths, and discover what they’re truly capable of.
The main goal of our partnership has been to help them create branded video content so they can spread their mission far and wide. We’ve produced a variety of films for them, ranging from program coverage to virtual livestreams.
One key aspect of their video marketing strategy is to incorporate voices from every part of the organization. You hear from girls in the program, their mentors, and people they’ve impacted in the local community. Together they carry out the Girls Inc. mission which is to inspire girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold! See how we have helped them share this mission through the films we’ve produced with them:
Girls Inc. Brand Film 2019
We produced this brand film for Girls Inc. back in 2019. We filmed several events and edited them together to tell one story: Girls Inc. empowers girls in every facet of life through their diverse and unique programs.
Period Poverty Community Action Project
The Ambassador Club at Girls Inc. is on a mission to combat period poverty in our local Philadelphia community. The girls told us all that went into making this project a success.
We also filmed the Girls Inc. mentors as they reacted to this girl-led process. It’s a beautiful story and we are honored that we were able to help them share it.
Eureka! American Water
The Girls Inc. Eureka! program is an intensive, five-year STEM-based course for rising 8th grade girls. It gives them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, and math. In addition, the program also teaches the girls skills relating to physical fitness, personal development, and college and career readiness.
Through The Girls Inc. Eureka! program, the girls visited American Water and learned about water filtration. In addition to capturing B-roll of the girl-built water filtration systems, we interviewed the girls and Dr. Lauren Weinrich to drive the story.
Girls Inc. Livestream
This is a clip from our virtual livestream with Girls Inc. in 2020. We shot the entire show in advance and played it live on the day of the event. Even though most companies are returning to in-person events, many still offer livestream options so that those who can’t attend in person can still experience the event.
Our role as storytellers has been to help Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey spread their mission and share their stories through branded video content. Our team strives to be a resource to them for whatever they need. This ultimately helps them gain support from the public, inspire girls to join Girls Inc., and encourage others to invest in the future of girls everywhere. Together we can inspire and empower all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
